A STEADY STATE PLATE METHOD OF MEASURING THERMAL-CONDUCTIVITY OF ROCK SAMPLES
-
Abstract
A stable plate method of measuring thermal conductivity of rock samples has been designed and used. The measurement is carried out by comparison with a sample of known thermal conductivity. The special feature of the method is the elimination of the effect of thermal resistance at the boundary surfaces of the rock samples. With the required accuracy of measurement, time for the preparation of the rock samples can be greatly reduced.
